Central Rio
Easy to get to by Metro, but well forewarned to watch out for problems. |
This is where I got off the subway and was impressed. This was excellent and better than expected. |
Rio's magnificent opera house and theater. You can see from the tour busses, this was a major place to visit. I saw groups following leaders with flags, but that was them. I hate that. |
A little drizzle alternated with sun and that made for these either being useful in rain or sunshine. Those sellers had it all covered. This is a central city plaza and behind the fence a small market. |
There was a lot of stuff like this for sale here. I had walked far enought to find the next Metro station, but not yet, not by a long shot. |
I went here and found one of those buffet places. The steets were packed with suited business types. The lunch was good and reasonable and later I was warned by a lawyer type to not flash the camera around, that there were thieves around. You notice once again. Harleys are popular in Brazil. |
I had a map, but problems figuring it out. I finally devised a way and got to the very modern cathedral. |
